"Free trade" mythbuster Ian Fletcher, David Ray Griffin Tour organizer Matt Naus on Truth Jihad Radio!

Truth Jihad Radio Sat. 5/1/10, 5-7 pm Central, American Freedom Radio (to be archived here.) Call-in number: 512-879-3805.

First hour: Since May Day is the original workers' holiday, why not celebrate it by busting the myth of "free trade" -- possibly the single biggest culprit behind the ongoing screwing of working people that has been accelerating over the past three decades? Listen, folks: I ran for Congress as a Libertarian, so if there's anyone who really wants to believe in free trade, it's me. But Ian Fletcher's book Free Trade Doesn't Work will convince anyone but the most hidebound acolyte of Ayn Rand that ideology and reality are two very different things. "Free trade" policies, alongside the deregulation of the financial sector, have wildly enriched a handful of oligarchs and their retainers, while decimating the economy and impoverishing the general population.

Interesting side-note: The preface to Fletcher's book is by my old pal Edward Luttwak, dean of the neocon strategists, whose 1969 book Coup d'Etat: A Practical Handbook was used as a step-by-step recipe by those who planned and carried out the coup d'etat of September 11th, 2001. After I told a journalist that Luttwak, or at least his book, was a 9/11 suspect, Luttwak shot back that I wasn't fit to clean the toilets at a major university, much less teach. I returned fire by eviscerating Luttwak's monumentally stupid op-ed claiming that Muslims are required by their faith to kill Obama. Now, oddly enough, we've finally found something to agree on: "free trade" sucks.

Second hour: Matt Naus, high-octane 9/11 truth activist and main organizer of the David Ray Griffin 2010 tour that is now underway. We'll discuss DRG's Friday night talk in Milwaukee, the progress of the 9/11 truth movement, and related topics.
