Why does "Canada's pre-eminent philosopher of war" not know, or not care, that 9/11 was an inside job?

Don't miss this conversation between the editor of one of America's most provocative publications, and one of his most provocative writers!

  1. I can't understand why Gordon feels the need to insult anyone who doesn't agree with him on the issue of NATO's aggression against Libya, which he seems to think was all about the dictator, Qadaffi, as if the thousands of dead and injured don't count ... it's really rather pathetic. Is he incapable of putting his view across without resorting to inflammatory ad hominem abuse?

  2. I hear you, John.

Gordon is a bit like certain other very smart people (Tarpley, Fetzer, etc.) who don't suffer fools gladly. When these guys think they're right on something, folks with other views had better look out!

But overall, Gordon is actually pretty good at tolerating a wide range of viewpoints. The exceptions are his pet issues, Wikileaks and Libya. (And 9/11 truth, for that matter.)

Gordon's obviously right on most of his 9/11 views, almost certainly right on Wikileaks, and putting out a viewpoint that needs to be heard (and lines up fairly well with what I know as a North Africa focused Ph.D. Arabist) on Libya. And though he sometimes overstates his case - well, hyperbole is entertaining, and these days if you don't entertain while informing, you're stuck preaching to a very small choir.

  3. For sure, Gordon is spot on when it comes to a whole host of issues, including 9/11, wikileaks and I'm sure he's right about Qadaffi, the dictator, but that's why it troubles me that Gordon discredits himself and insults his audience, people like me, who actually agree with him on many (if not most) issues. I don't find it at all entertaining, I must say, I find it insulting and I couldn't keep listening, which is unfortunate for me, because I'm sure there was a lot more interesting conversation that I missed.

If Gordon just cooled his rancor a bit, he'd be a whole lot more entertaining, as well as interesting and informative.

I can understand lashing out at people who stubbornly refuse to look at the truth about 9/11, or countenance alternative views on any issue, obviously such people deserve ample servings of opprobrium, but that's not who Gordon is targeting with his vilification of what he calls the Pro-Qadaffi cultists ...

Cheers and thanks for a great show.
