Professors Juan Cole, James Petras join Truth Jihad Radio!

Fri.  10/5/12, 3-5 pm Central, American Freedom Radio  (archived here.)

First hour: Juan Cole may be the best-known Middle East Studies expert in America. A professor at the University of Michigan, he has taken up the role of public intellectual with a vengeance in response to what I (not he) would call the 9/11-triggered war on Islam for Israel. And like me, he has been hounded by the Zionist lobby's fronts, including the McCarthyist snitch-on-your-professor confederacy of weasels known as Campus Watch.

From his bio: Juan R. I. Cole is Richard P. Mitchell Collegiate Professor of History at the University of Michigan. For three decades, he has sought to put the relationship of the West and the Muslim world in historical context. His most recent book is Engaging the Muslim World (Palgrave Macmillan, March, 2009) and he also recently authored Napoleon's Egypt: Invading the Middle East (Palgrave Macmillan, 2007). He has been a regular guest on PBS's Lehrer News Hour, and has also appeared on ABC Nightly News, Nightline, the Today Show, Charlie Rose, Anderson Cooper 360, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, the Colbert Report, Democracy Now! and many others.

Second hour: James Petras is the world's most prolific and incorrigably truthful sociology professor. His latest, excellent article is Venezuelan Elections: a Choice and Not an Echo.

James Petras is a Bartle Professor (Emeritus) of Sociology at Binghamton University, New York. He is the author of 64 books published in 29 languages, and over 560 articles in professional journals, including the American Sociological Review, British Journal of Sociology, Social Research, Journal of Contemporary Asia, and Journal of Peasant Studies. He has published over 2000 articles. His latest book is War Crimes in Gaza and the Zionist Fifth Column in America (Atlanta:Clarity Pres 2010)

  1. It's interesting that several others immediately caught the same exact line from Juan Cole that I did as well. Which was his statement about there not being a thousand professionals that doubt the official 911 tale, and that it is a fringe element. It's clear that he hasn't really done any investigation into 911. Next time someone pulls this kind of thing on your show Kevin, try and get them to give their top 5 reasons (evidences) why they believe the official story, and also from where they gathered those top 5 pieces of evidence for official story support.

  2. I am listening to your show with Juan Cole 10/05/12. You did pretty good with that guy, but I don't know how you keep from having a stroke. Here is the Cheetos Test: simply eat some Cheetos (they have a "natural" version for the health conscious) and then look at your hands. If you don't have to get up and wash them you are blind and insensate. Now, when the government relayed events before the 9/11 events they said: "THE SYSTEM WAS BLINKING RED." Richard Clarke, the National Security Council (NSC) counter terrorism coordinator, "mentioned to National Security Advisor Rice at least twice that al Qaeda sleeper cells were likely in the United States." (Source: The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States)

As you know, a task force made up of elements from elements of the NYPD and the CIA has recently been spying on American Muslims in New York City and surrounding states and they came up with nothing. This "sweep" included New Jersey, home of the blind sheikh and they came up empty handed. Now, The Department of Homeland Security is in the news for its on going "intelligence failures." Says a recent Congressional Report: “[Our] investigation discovered that the fusion centers often produced irrelevant, useless or inappropriate intelligence reporting for the DHS, and many centers failed to produce any intelligence whatsoever...” (Source: Examiner.Com)

As you of course know, Islam and its concomitant communities such as Arabs, Iranians, Afghans and others are very close knit both by religion and other cultural influences such as tribalism, family, hawala, social networking etc. So were there any Islamic Terrorists working independently and not under secret cover of the government there would be strong associations with the Islamic community at large but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. The NYPD and CIA and DHS have found no networks. Surely, if their were "sleeper cells" or other affiliated networks something would turn up. So they all made a clean getaway? What about the ill or the infirm, none of these were left behind? What about the brother-in-law of a terrorist or a friend of a friend with a slip of the tongue We see none of that. As far as getaways go, what if the "network" was shut down and these terrorists got marooned, precipitously? This could happen. What if moving companies weren't available like Urban Movers and you were stranded with your goods? No, this doesn't pass the Cheetos Test, 'cause there is no evidence of any kind of networks.

  3. Juan Cole is a disgrace; his views on nine eleven are untenable.

  4. "It's hard for a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it." -Upton Sinclair.
Juan Cole might not lose his salary if he understood 9/11, but he'd lose the professional stature he enjoys as an academic terror whore. http://www.veteranstoday.com/2012/09/28/academic-prostitution-in-the-field-of-terrorism-studies/

  6. I just listened to the Juan Cole interview. The most sickening thing I've heard there since the James Zogby appearance. Zogby is a complete and utter waste of space, timid and worthless, Mahmoud Abbas of North America. Juan Cole is really no better. It's not the fact that he's not a truther, I totally respect Phil Giraldi and he still supports official story. Cole's responses re 911 were simply psychotic, beyond unbelievable. He referred to AE911 as "a few fringe people". At least tell a respectable lie Mr. Cole, this was insulting, update your lie at least please.

  7. Giraldi doesn't really support the official story, he just doesn't actively oppose it. He's got an open mind. Cole's mind is padlocked and he threw away the key.

  8. Thats the thing. There are a lot of people I respect(if not fully) who dont "go there" regarding 9/11. But its the ones who feel the need to attack 9/11 activists/reserachers who really make me sick. They deserve no respect. They are cowards on the wrong side of history. Of course the Giraldis of the world are cowards too but at least they dont attack us.

  9. Poor Juan, obviously had trouble coping with the cognitive dissonance he experienced when confronted by the mention of 9/11 ... the subject that separates critical thinkers from compromised academics.

Juan Cole is clearly suffering a severe case of Chomskyitis, as evidenced by his intense aversion to the subject and inability to distinguish fact from fiction concerning the events of 9/11.

Chomskyitis turns normally sceptical anti-establishment intellectual dissidents into dribbling, gullible buffoons who believe whatever they hear on the TV.

  10. Dear Dr Kevin, you are right again, that brainwashed bought and paid for Zion spokesman Juan Cole is nothing but a p*ssy!!! Once again these delusional propaganda artists are just exposing themselves as complete frauds in every sense of the word. Whatever credibility this person may have thought he had, no longer exists. Him and John Bursil need to get their own radio show and interview Dick Cheney and Paul Wolfowitz and have a giant neo-con / zion lovefest.

Also, I was listening to that first part of your interview with the great Gwenyth Todd. I was somewhat confused however, when she said the 9-11 were a setback for the neo-cons. It sounded like to me that she may have been not fully aware that her boss Dick Cheney was the H.N.I.C (head neo-con in charge) of 9-11 operations. I mean she clearly knows Richard Clarke and Paul Wolfowitz and company were some of the architects of 9-11.

I mean 9-11 couldn't have gone any smoother for the neo-cons and I'm sure Dick Cheney and company pulled of the greatest false flag attack in modern human history. As they were in fact able to take invade Iraq and Afghanistan. And as Gen. Clark stated later the 7 countries in 5 year plan. It has all gone the way of the neo-cons, who must obviously work for the Zion mafia of Israel.

Anyways, I admire Gwenyth Todd immensely, and support what she stands for. Dr Kevin just keep doing what you do best, these people are so delusional that it does make for entertaining radio. Thanks Dr Kevin.

  11. My goodness, what a cruel guy you are! I was listening to you and Juan Cole go at it and it did a little number on my head. I thought, "Why is Kevin PUSHING it when this
fellow seems so decent, reasonable but (maybe) uninformed?

Well, I guess maybe you know more about Juan Cole than I do (which is nothing, actually) because he then "left the building."

So I wondered, in my mind ... just HOW can we tell if someone is absolutely sincere in their belief vs. if/when they're not? Can we tell by their response of, "I don't
want to get into this; it's too complicated and lengthy to address at this time," ... that they're actually just trying to get out of a tough situation? What about global
    warming arguments? (nudge, nudge~)

And then I wondered if people could be falsely convinced that their "intuition" is wrong?

I remember from my Christian days when someone would pull a Juan Cole and storm off in anger because of what some Christian had said to that person. The angered person
was said to be "under conviction" and much prayer was solicited on that person's behalf. And then sometimes that person would come around with, "I tried to fight God but
it just didn't work. Finally, I yielded and asked Jesus Christ to become my Lord and Saviour."

Looking back on that in retrospect ... it was all bullshit because the person WASN'T wrong in the first place but ... he secretly BELIEVED he was wrong and was rebelling
against what he TRULY believed in his heart!

So, I dunno what Juan Cole REALLY believes but ... it sounded suspiciously to me -guaging from similar shallow responses from other status-quo people- that he was
carefully framing his response to protect himself from possible ramifications of stepping outside safe parameters.

  14. Hello Kevin - I'm part of the website rediscover9/11.com - examines zio involvement in the crime. I listened to you interview with Juan Cole - God he, and those like him are frustrating. When discussing the supposed involvement of Osama Bin Laden - or definite non-involvement - I wanted to scream into the interview and tell Juan Cole that if he has info in Osama's involvement, he should go to the FBI with the info, as they do not possess it. Simply put - I'm sure you know this - for the longest time, the FBI had him on their 10 most wanted list, along with his face, but what was missing on the page was the fact that the FBI had NOT attributed the crime to him. They had a few crimes pinned to him, but NOT 9/11. That fact alone , I believe would have made Cole flee - but as it stood, he fled anyway. Shame on these academics. I've used the tactic before with people who've insisted on Bin Ladens involvement - it cuts right to the chase.

Just wanted to drop you a line and say, you are doing a yeomans task. And thank you. Peter

  15. Yeah, it's frustrating to hear him serve up blatant lies about easily-verified facts and then whine "but i don't want to talk about it" to cut you off from correcting him!!!

  16. "By their fruit, ye shall know them." The more they're exposed, the more credibility they lose, the more we can fill in the gaps, and winn converts. It's my belief, Kevin, the "truth", is one of the facets, of the face of God-ALLAH, however you want to term it. And the more we lie, or except lies, the more we distance ourselves from communion with the divine, because lies are inimicable to that which is divine. God bless what you do, Kevin. All the best, Peter

  17. Barak Allahu fik!

Yes, one of the highest names of Allah is al-Haqq, "the Truth" or "Reality."

The drunken Sufi al-Hallaj got himself executed for saying "I am al-Haqq." If he had just said "I'm a truther" instead of "I am the Truth" he might have been better received.

  18. Kevin, I had a chance to listen to your Juan Cole interview. Your delayed deadpan comeback that he's a shill for the "genocidal 911 hoax" was epic.LoL! When I have time im gonna compile a collection of you confronting (gutless) guests on 911. GREAT work!
