Palestinian professor Mazin Qumsiyeh, ex-Zionist Richard Forer

Wed. 1/23/13, 3-5 pm Central,  American Freedom Radio  (archived here.)
Dr. Mazin Qumsiyeh is not an ivory tower theorist -
he backs up his words with actions.
Today's Israeli-election-day special features two leading advocates of peace and reconciliation between Palestinians and Israeli Jews.

First hour: Mazin Qumsiyeh  is a Professor at Bethlehem and Birzeit Universities and a well-known Palestinian human rights advocate. He previously served on the faculties of the University of Tennessee, Duke and Yale Universities.   He is chairman of the Palestinian Center for Rapprochement Between People and serves on the board of Al-Rowwad Children's Theater Center in Aida Refugee Camp. He has published several books including Sharing the Land of Canaan: human rights and the Israeli/Palestinian Struggle (English and Spanish) and Popular Resistance in Palestine: A history of Hope and Empowerment (Arabic and English, forthcoming in French and Italian). He also has an activism book published electronically on his web site (http://qumsiyeh.org).  His main interest is media activism and public education.

Second hour: Richard Forer, a Jewish American from a pro-Zionist family, had been a loyal defender of Israeli policy all his life and zealously supported Israel’s 2006 invasion of Lebanon. In response to what he perceived as growing global anti-Semitism, he became a member of AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

Angry that two of his most trusted friends resisted his views, and surprised that a long-time Jewish friend would suggest that his opinions were not as factually based as he assumed, Forer began an intensive study of the history of the Israel-Palestine...and the rest is history.

Rich's book is entitled: Breakthrough: Transforming Fear into Compassion – A New Perspective on the Israel-Palestine Conflict.
