Surprise, surprise!

Guess who's following up on my Gary Sick interview?

It's Barbara Honegger, author of the original October Surprise - whose title, thesis, and evidence Gary Sick borrowed in his follow-up book by the same title!

Barbara is peeved that Gary Sick (a) barely acknowledged her work in his book, (b) took a very cautious line on the 1980 anti-Carter coup on my radio show, and (c) dismissed my questions on 9/11 using what the French call "la langue de bois."

Personally, I always thought Gary Sick was one of those "insider good guys" who are willing to be virtuous up to a point...but may not want to risk their professional reputations or lives by taking on the really hard issues full steam ahead. And I still think Gary Sick deserves credit for getting up front of the opposition to Chuck Schumer's "make Netanyahu America's commander-in-chief" bill.

Barbara isn’t so sure. She doesn’t trust Gary Sick as far as she could throw him. In fact, she thinks he may be suspect in the 1980 October Surprise coup d’état!  According to Barbara, Naval Intelligence analyst and then top Carter National Security Council Iran expert Gary Sick is a prime candidate for “Navy Blue," the code name the 1980 Reagan-Bush Sr. campaign gave to a still unidentified high-level Carter Administration informant and insider highly knowledgeable about Carter's negotiations with Iran.

Is Barbara just peeved at Sick's borrowing her stuff without sufficient acknowledgment? Or could Gary Sick, who seems to me to be a relatively good guy, really be that devious? Listen and make up your own mind!
